So, now the big thing is social media, and social marketing. Back in the day, having a well marked up web site and relavent keywords was the only game in town. The tables have turned, and boy, have they turned. Now, if do not have social media for your business, you might as well close up the shop and go home.

In a way, it's a good thing. It really levels out the playing field. The small business owner can compete with the mega corporation through word of mouth. It used to be that the media, newspapers, news broadcasts, radio and television were the only way to influence how others perceived your business - and only the big guys could play. Now, potential customers use social media to make purchasing decisions.
